I'm pretty sure kids don't wear seat belts or use car seats quite the same way in Costa Rica that they do in the USA. What do you think? ;)
Bobby and my son are together at a fountain in Vancouver, Canada. What a cute daddy and son bonding moment!
This is a steam clock in the Gastown section of Vancouver, Canada. It is a very interesting section of the city to visit.
The sun setting on the pirate ship in the Tampa Bay harbor.
This is me at St. John's Pass in Madeira Beach. We really had a nice time on our trip to Clearwater/ Tampa Bay area. I liked the Madeira Beach area a lot.
My cat Bello - he's really a character!
These are some of the beautiful and unique plants that you can find in Costa Rica.
This is me,this summer by the lake in Northern Michigan.
The monkeys are VERY used to humans in some areas and will let you get close to them. However, this is not always good as their populations are starting to decrease rapidly in Costa Rica.
Aaaaaah, the beach. This is the beach at Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica. It's one of my favorite places in the world.
Sarchi, Costa Rica, is famous for its painted oxcart wheels. Obviously, this one is a little bit larger than they usually are.
We had to cross this bridge (in a huge tour bus, no less!) in order to make it to Manuel Antonio National Park (and the BEACH!)
We found a place in Southern Indiana - just a mile or so away from Holiday World - that protects and keeps buffalo. They had at least 8 or 9 of them and the buffalo would let you get VERY close to them (of course, you still want to be careful!).
Talk about strange animals . . . I saw this lizard one day while I was hiking in Carara Nature Preserve in Southern Costa Rica.
Squid or octupus anyone? A common dish in Madrid is "squid in its own ink" - Even I am not quite that Brave! But they say that people who live in Madrid eat more seafood than any other city in the world (AND they don't even live by the ocean!)
A partial view of the Alcazar in Sevilla from outside in the gardens. Just beautiful!
Picturesque little Spanish village - Patones de Arriba. . . cute kitties sitting out in the sun by the colorful flowers, I couldn't resist!
This is called the Torre de Oro (or Golden Tower) - supposedly it actually used to have real gold on it, but that was taken by thieves centuries ago (kind of like the Colosseum in Rome). However, it does still have its Golden hue, right?
The view from underneath a walkway looking through a waterfall at the Palacio de Cristal - Parque de Retiro, Madrid.
These are part of the massive gardens at the Alcazar in Sevilla. It's just too awesome to even put into words - seriously!
This is a typical view of the Plaza Mayor (or town square) in Madrid - PACKED with people!
This is me by the Palacio de Cristal in the Parque del Retiro in Madrid. It's such a beautiful and relaxing place. I love it there!
This is an actual STREET in Toledo, Spain. They really drive cars down them. Can you believe it?
This is me in front of the famous "Estanque" (or pool) at the Parque del Buen Retiro in Madrid. Everyone goes here to relax in the busy city, especially on Sunday afternoons.
This is a patio in the Alcazar in Sevilla (Seville) in southern Spain. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life!
This is called the Tower of La Giralda (the Turning One - basically). It is attached to the famous Cathedral in Seville.
This is me in a place near Madrid called Patones de Arriba. Most Americans have never even heard of it. In fact, the king of Spain didn't even know it existed because it was so well camoflauged - so the citizens were spared from fighting in wars!
This is Jamon (Ham) - famous in this part of Spain - it's very similar to the prociutto from Italy that we eat. It's really yummy on some crusty bread (like a French or Italian loaf) - warm and soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Mmmmm.
Can you believe people actually park like this?!? A SMART car parked between another car and some recycling bins between Retiro Park and the Atocha Station in Madrid.
This is the view from the trail at Manuel Antonio National Park. It's really cool because it's both a nature preserve with sloths, monkeys, and other animals, and it's a beach.
Kyra - our pygmy cat - she's very small, but very affectionate
my son at the school homecoming (2007) pitching a baseball
pic from the Linkin Park concert this fall (2007)
this is called an umbrella plant - poor people actually used it for that in Costa Rica - they can be found all around the rain forest

Yes, this is REALLY Harry Connick Jr!!! He was reading to the kids at a local elementary school.
This is what the inside of a volcano looks like. . . This is the view from the top of Poas volcano in Costa Rica. There is a strong sulfur smell up here, but otherwise it is quite beatiful.
Yes, that's really a crocodile! This is a WILD crocodile in Costa Rica, and this man is feeding him a chicken. He showed me where he had been attacked in the past by a croc and lost part of one hand and had serious damage to his chest, but I guess it's all part of the job description, right?
This is a lake above the volcano Poas in Costa Rica. If you follow the trail from the volcano another 1/2 mile or so, this is the site you will encounter!
