After years of thought of using the name Strange Daze again, finally came to the conclusion that it worked well for us in the eighties. The band name was originally used with Ron Redifer, Randy Baker, Forrest Penner, Shari Pandit, and Mike Lutgen in Los Angeles from 1980 to 1984. The band was hugely successful touring internationally. There are articles in Rolling Stone from members of The Doors commenting on the band. Redifer and Penner played in Wild Child together in the 90's in Los Angeles. Wild Child continues to play to "Sold Out" audiences across North America.

The latest Recordings on myspace were done at The Pop Machine Recording Studio in Indianapolis. Produced by Marc and Eric Johnson. Special thanks to them. Additional Thanks to Todd Trent at Ludwig Drums, Bobby Boos at Sabian Cymbals, John DeChristoper at Zildjian Cymbals, John Lee at Flyte Case Toronto, and Kevin at Uncle Albert's.

This is simply a new chapter in a few seasoned musicians lives recreating the music of "The Doors". The magic of the newly formed Strange Daze band has been instant. The music is BIG, RAW AND EXCITING!! Guy's Incredible, Confident. Powerful, Blues driven Key Bass and Organ styles are truly something to be seen and heard by everyone. Ron's experienced drumming is dramatic, pushing the songs only the way Doors songs are pushed. Andy's bottleneck playing is clean, spurring lament. Finally, Derek's vocals are desperate and haunting, charged by the Morrison Mojo.

All Instrumentation is exactly what The Doors used. Rhodes Piano Bass, Ludwig Mod Orange Drum Kit, Zildjian Cymbals, Gibson SG Guitar, Giibson Les Paul, Gibson G-101 Organ Samples, and Fender Twin Amplifier.

STRANGE DAZE - Celebration of The Doors

The band was originally the Los Angeles based, Strange Daze. The band became hugely successful during the 1980's head lining in 1,000 to 4,000 seat venues across North America and opening in 8,000 to 18,000 seat arenas. To see some original photos and videos check out http://myspace.com/lastrangedaze The band had a huge fan base.

During that time, Strange Daze was managed by Bill Berroll, currently the head of Metal Blade Records and Manager of the Goo Goo Dolls. The National Booking agent was Roger Gacon from Diversified Management Agency. The National Act agency booked well known bands such as The Scorpions, Ted Nugent, Sammy Hagar, UFO, The Romantics, Alvin Lee, and Nazareth.

Strange Daze split up in the late 1980's after several years of International Touring. The band worked with Jim Morrison's sister, Ann and husband Producer Allen Graham on soundtracks for the first rendition of The Doors movie. There was a soundtrack album recorded and released.

John Densmore from "The Doors" quoted in Rolling Stone about the original L.A. Strange Daze that "I just had a great time watching Strange Daze. The drummer played every part very close to as I did on the albums. The band is making a living selling out shows nationwide. I have seen the band sellout a 1200 seater in the Valley numerous times. The singer even had some of Jim's Rap down".

Redifer has shared the Whiskey A Go Go stage with Robbie Krieger and Ray Manzarek from The Doors numerous times. They used to show up at gigs randomly to just sit in and jam. They were the most incredible people do be around. The place would explode as they walked on stage.

Former Strange Daze Drummer Ron Redifer joined a newly formed Doors tribute band Wild Child in 1994 with former Strange Daze Guitarist Forrest Penner. Wild Child currently plays to sold out crowds all over the west coast. Drummer Ron Redifer left Wild Child in 1996, prior to moving to Indianapolis, and has decided to reform the Strange Daze band in Indianapolis after fellow musician Chris Haskett made the connection between Redifer and recent Chicago transfer Vocalist Derek Pressley. Redifer has since added Guitarist Andy Therber and Guy Vreeman on Keys/ Key Bass. The band has no Bass Player just as The Doors did on most recordings and in "Live" concerts.
