My first time post to virtually everyone with a particular common interest is: I once asked myself "Why don't I attempt to create a dialog with all of the other people who have "art" as one of their tags?" Though not knowing where the move might take me, I felt that the tag alone was reason enough to become a fan of yours.
Regarding your post on my guestbook: That's just something you'll have to get used to as a designer, especially for the web. Many clients will just use you to take their ideas (however bad they might be) and get them to "work" on the web. It can be a frustrating business. Just keep your confidence up and keep on looking for clients. Not all of them will do this, especially after you've built a solid portfolio that will make clients completely confident with you making the design decisions. Even in this case, however, you'll run into clients that don't have great judgment skills when it comes to design and will still just want you to use their ideas.
Hi there! What took you to Japan? My wife and I were just there in March.
I do apologize for being harsh in my reply. I understand the need to vent, and my intent was to reframe the conversation toward some advise like "this is compared to all the good things in your life".
Many of us have been there before with a crappy work environment...my only other advice there is to figure out strategies to accept it or move on to another job. If it is that bad, you can find another job rather than beating yourself up for staying there and taking it!
Regardless, Cheers again and enjoying your posts!
Can't help it. I have to drop you a note and thank you for all the reviews you've thrown up on the site today. Thank you! That's the kinda stuff that makes this site good. It's the user generated content that makes it a robust utility. I know, sounds like corporate speak and all that junk but it's true. The more people like you that get on and talk about what they love and hate and why, the more useful the site is for every one. Anyway, thank you.
And if you want in on a little secret ... starting at the end of Feb there's going to be some VERY cool monthly prizes for being in the top group of Karma. They'll be more news about that in about a week.
I visited your old website and was impressed. I've often thought of getting a website but have never been motivated enough to do anything but just think about it.
Well done.
Thank you for keeping everybody informed on IndyCar activities!
I have gone to many IndyCar events and look forward to travel to other IRL events. I just joined Down Force and hope to catch a bus or two here and there. I am very exited you use this format to inform myself and others about the exiting world of IndyCar!
Hey... Kathyrn... Thanks so much for your help. It sounds like our tastes are pretty much the same. I'm anxious to go to the IMAX and I've coupon for Crackers so I really wanna go. I haven't met many people here yet. I work with people who are all older than I am and have families. While I'm a home body, I enjoy going out every once in a while.. at least once every other week. Thanks for the tips! Rebecca a.k.a. Sweetypie
Great profile... loved all the indycar pictures... How lucky you work for indycar.com... would they be hiring more people??? I hate hunting for new exciting jobs, can get frustrating at times. Keep taking more pics at events, they're a blast to view!
