"A picture is worth a THOUSAND words...
An artist is worth a MILLION." -aLLEN iMAGERY
Where do I start? I am a servant of God, photographer, poet, publisher, graphic (and t-shirt) designer & promoter. Needless to say, I been everyday hustlin' before there was a Rick Ross. To whom much is given, much is required. I guess I owe God a lot? He continues to amaze me, as I continue to trust in Him.
I learn new things about myself CONSTANTLY. I have been a photographer for the majority of my life... I had this secret desire to play with cameras since I was young-my step father ALWAYS had one with him. After meeting Gordon Parks when I was about 15, my destiny was solidified. I mean, I was completly amazed by the things that his lens was able to capture. The contrast in his black and whites, his rugged style. I knew that this was for me! And God blessed it. I never have been ...um, well... NORMAL. And thank God, neither is my eye. I worked in a cell-I mean, studio for 8 years and 5 days, before I finally left to do bigger things.
Poetry came to me as an assignment in my Senior Composition class... and I haven't stopped yet. Let me paint this right. I HATED school. I mean, if I could have just showed up for the social club, I woulda been cool with that, and my grades reflected that-until that poetry unit. I started, and God blessed it. (Notice a trend here?)

A chapbook is a small collection of poems, usually 32 pages or less. Chapbook dimensions are usually 5&1/2" by 8"; however, there's always some one some where doing something different and calling it a chapbook.
i've been wondering what is a chapbook??
MomJara is right on point. Very easy to do... Basically it's a one chapter length book... aka ChapBook.
So according to my information, you tried to "defan" me....is that so....hmmm....

Please believe we are about to takeover! Let's get it...
It's great how many poets and spoken word artists are on the site! We appreciate your participation. If you have any questions about the site let me know.
Yes Ben, we exist, and there are so many more of us!! the poetry scene is alive, well, and most of all: THRIVING!
(Responding to this)
There's a way to do it now, but it involves playing around with URLs a little bit.
Essentially, do an event search that should match and pick a date range. That'll give you a page with a URL like:
http://www.indy.com/events/list?eventdate%5Benddate%5D=2008-02-09&scrollup=true&event%5Bcategory%5D=&event%5Bsubcategory%5D=&eventdate%5Bstartdate%5D=2008-02-03&venuelocation%5Blocation%5D=&venuelocation%5Bzip%5D=&event%5Btext_search%5D=king&event[category]=Live+Music
Just change the eventdate%5Bstartdate%5D=2008-02-03 bit to a date in the past.
Keep in mind that, unless the event has a review, it'll drop from the system in a month.
We're working on getting the date range box to include past dates as well, but that won't be until our next update (which might be a while to be honest).
Hope that helps.
Thanks a million Chris... In the mean time, I will just race home to upload pics and reviews BEFORE midnite :) I DID however do an event seach and pull one up...
Thanks again.
making the world go round is just one of my jobs :)

that's whats up... :)
I really like your biography!!!!
what do you say we put our differences behind us buddy?
Hey guy, the funny thing is I wrote that right before realizing the meeting at starbucks last night...I just simply got up, got ready and went...although I didn't recite, it was my first attending and a step...I have never been around people more welcoming...I am proud to say I am nooooo longer afraid and felt like I had finally found my family I plan to be at the spot on Sun....and I have also invited some folks from my job.......see ya there
Whats up is Organic Soul's song, "Missin you". I lost my father on 10/24/07....even as a poet my mind can not come up with words to say how much this song moved me...I shared it with my sis and fam back in Muncie..they thank you all as well for sharing one of your many gifts.....God has truley blessed you....guy....
Sunday at Midtown was like going home for the holidays....I felt like I was around people who spoke my language...who thought like me...wrote like me and even if that hadn't been the case I would have still been welcomed...no matter what. That spot is the coolest set ever..the host and the crew seem to work extra hard at just makin you feel at home and much like a great movie, I hated when it was over..I told every and anyone who would listen at my job about it....for the musician its got music, for the romantic, it has that low-light neo-soul love like feel and I know I would be way smiling if someone took me there for a date...something different, clean fun and New Yorky....yes I made that word up and no Im not embarrassed by it.......anyway I loved it.....best invite with an exception to church I ever picked up......thank you and see ya Sunday"God willin".
I'm here now!!! Just thought I'd make my arrival and presence known to this scene. Especially since M~Y~S~P~A~C~E is a "NO NO" where I work! So glad to find something new and I thoroughly enjoy reading and responding to such interesting comments! I still have a ways to go as far as getting my profile together...but I have to get back to work!
Where's the gallery marked "Backbone of the Operation" better known as "Family Pics?" LOL!
