Today:
I am newly and happily married to my sweetheart and best friend, as of July 29, 2007. I can be opinionated and aggressive, goofy and unpretentious, thoughtful and introspective, not afraid of anything (well not willing to admit it), curious, inventive, terminally optimistic, and infuriating when I want to be right. My sense of humor is Dry, Dark and Dirty, baby. I love music and think the accordion is sexy as hell. I like old cartoons, obscure artsy films (sometimes just to make fun of them) cookies, coffee, reading late at night, surprises around the corner, the subversive and sublime, unfettered conversation... My favorite clothes are my jeans, my Docs, and my black t-shirt. And nearly everything else I wear is BLACK. Because that is my favorite color. No I am not Goth, that word should only apply to castles and Victorian novels.

Do you wear black on the outside because black is how you feel on the inside? (sorry; can't resist a Smiths reference when the opportunity presents itself.)
:)
Enjoyed your post about the city's obsession with sports and how it detracts from the arts. I think a shift in thinking is occurring -- a very gradual one -- among today's young people. Oddly, Broadway is more popular with kids than ever. And maybe all of the sports scandals that have happened over the past year will disillusion sports fanatics and force them to pay attention to other forms of entertainment.
I don't hate sports (rather like em, actually); but too many people let it monopolize their attention when it comes to recreation.
Wasn't logged into my proper acct. when I posted the above. Sorry for the confusion.

Hey Matt, nice to meet you! Thanks for commenting intelligently, and referring to The Smiths right off the bat, that gives you mega-points in my book. Also, thank you for your correct spelling and punctuation. That's SO refreshing! Yes, I do hope more young people will avail themselves of more arts and culture, but the powers-that-be are kidding themselves if they think they can ignore the draw of Sex Appeal. I have added you to my growing collection of still-life heads.
Hey Lady! Good to see you. Hope all is well. Listen, love that you're already knee deep in indy.com and having some high-intellect banter. That's what we're doing this for. More importantly though, I have to tell you I love your husband. Not in that way. That would be awkward around the office. I mean it in the 'this guy is really good and seems to love what he's doing and therefore is very good at it' kind of way. It's nice. I should probably tell him that, huh?

Oh, I think you should tell him you love him, a LOT. =P I think this website will be a lot of fun, and a cool way to connect with local people. WAY better than that monstrosity called MySpace.
Muchos appreciation for contributing to Indy.com so early. I have to apologize that your posts have become buried. We're still in the middle of the great content migration so there are often lots of articles added in short periods of time. Keep it coming though. Indy.com will love you back. Maybe even more than Braden loves Dan.
PS. Love that you love Mark Ryden.

Show some love...where are the pix on the circle??!
Let it be said that Vicki St. James has nothing on you! Maybe a few inches but that's it!
thanks for the good vibes... Sunday went very well. The kids loved it. Shook it up a bit.

It's a deal. :)
Wow, I'm a newlywed too -- to my high school sweetheart.
It's a man's world VivaZoya. But I dig you. You can hang with James B anyday. You can even share my popcorn.
You rock!
My sense of humor is dry, dark and dirty as well.
My momma went to Shortridge High, too (class of '63). I probably would've, too but they changed it to a junior high by the time I was old enough. So I was a Broad Ripplite, instead.
Are you kidding? Eddie Izzard is my hero. He's one of the funniest people on this earth.
My first stalker fan! I'm so honored! :P
Christmas With Dino I need to start drinking martinis.
It's a naughty one:
"I'm so glad to see there's a man here from the New York Times because if I say 'goddammit,' they will print it 'good heavens' or 'good gracious.'"
The first time I saw her in anything, it was on a rerun of that '60s Batman show. I was probably 9 or 10. She was the Black Widow. I thought it was Bette Davis.
She was awesome. I've only seen a couple of her movies but I love her in Lifeboat.
I love TCM. They do show a lot of movies over and over but they'll show good ones. I love oldies.
Love you as Mrs. Lovett! Exciting and terrifying at the same time!
Happy New Year to you too!!
I love your writing and reviews. You have a way with words and I love your sense of humor. Also thanks for adding me to your people list!
Thanks. Those photos really have great memories for me. I'm glad you liked the quote, and I'm thrilled that you relate to it. I believe most people have moments they shine, without really knowing why. But when you know why, as you clearly do, life moves to a new level. (even if it is a bit terrifying!) Mike
Thanks for being a fan.
It was very nice to meet you too. I'm sure we'll run into each other again some time.
