Today:
I am an Artist (Writer, Crocheter and amateur Photographer) who is passionate about my life and my work. In addition to working as a full time Histotech, I also write the Free Thinking column for InTake Weekly.
I am currently working on a collection of poetic memoirs and procrastinating on starting my first novel.
Every area of my life and every experience I have has some kind of effect on what I create. I have learned that I can not seperate who I am and what I love from what I say, do or write. I am a black woman and I love; Myself - God - Life - Creativity - My Children - My Woman - All Women - All People -Nature - Diversity -Sensuality and Spirituality.
I hope to create a body of work that reflects my love and commitment to these things.

white guy would like to date you .... are you single? reply groucho19@excite.com
Wow....very intresting. thanks for putting your fine face and those bedroom eyes on indy.com. You seem to be a down to earth type of person. I like that. I really wish that there was a slight chance that a brother like myself would be able to pursue someone as fine and with all the neat interest you have...I respect the fact that you have a mate and wouldnt think of interupting that. I wish you the best of luck and if you would ever like to talk or just meet for Chicken Wings we can do that. E-mail me at Eugene.H.DixonJR@IRS.GOV looking forward to hearing from ya.
Hey there. I'm glad to see you're writing for INtake for real, now.
And oh my goodness, I'm also happy to be your first comment not looking for a date. (Hello, was the LGBTQ mention not enough of a clue?) So sad.
Girl I guess it wasn't... LOL! But I am finding that somehow announcing that I am indeed a lesbian makes them all the more interested. Go figure.
I'm doing pretty well, thanks. I'm not a part of the Indy Writers Group but my friend Sarah Gott used to be and she's still friends with Leah/Kate.
I mostly write just to write. I used to belong to a writing group through Big Car but we stopped meeting almost two years ago. I've been published locally in genesis as student, in NUVO in 2004, in the Tipton Poetry Journal in the Fall and Spring of 2005 and in Flying Island last year.
I haven't been writing as much lately, though. I need to get back in the habit. I'd like to read your stuff sometime.
poetic memoirs, eh? It would be real dope to see you out on the poetry scene sometime... if you wanna know where we'll be... um... well, check indy.com of course :)
