Today:
All my life, I've been told that my very first words were "Casper the friendly ghost." I'd always been told this cutesy little story about how it came out as "Papper Friddle Ose" at first, but my parents were just positive that I was talking about my favorite cartoon. So imagine my surprise that, while sitting at Christmas dinner a few years ago, it was revealed to me that my very first words were in fact..."Aw, f*ck!"
It explains so much about my life. Namely, my affinity for my little four-lettered friend, the F-bomb. But it also explains my inherently rebellious nature. Seriously...I rip tags off of mattresses like nobody's business. I never chew my food the required amount of times. And I never bother with singing "Happy Birthday" twice to be sure I've washed my hands long enough.
But my first utterance also demonstrates just how classy of a guy I am. Anybody can drop the F-bomb, but only a truly supreme being can harness that verbal power and use it only for the greater good. For instance...
1.) Encouragement - "Good luck! You don't stand a f*cking chance."
2.) Entitlement - "I want a f*cking refund!"
3.) Enrapture - "I can't believe I'm f*cking seeing this!"
Hmmm...they all start with "E". Yeah...we'll say I did that on purpose.
In my free time I like to travel, write music, take pictures, chase storms, drink gin and tonics (or Guinness), drive aimlessly, fly my stunt kite, explore weird roadside attractions, go to good concerts, dream of living in the tower unit of the Real Silk Lofts, camp, kayak, hike at Shades State Park, play with the latest electronic gadgets, and watch Indie movies.
My biggest pet peeves are the foamy handsoap that has enjoyed a recent surge, and the sound of silverware clanking together.
I would like to meet people who can contribute as much to my personal growth as I can to theirs. People who can hold up their end of a conversation. People who have good taste in music and maybe even have a little musical ability of their own. I would also like to meet Ben Gibbard, Connor Oberst, Sufjan Stevens, storm chasers, Salvador Dali, National Geographic Photographers, and the creators of Guinness.
A few months ago, I attended one of those rare shows where the opening band outshines the headlining act. That band is 'Company of Thieves' ...

Here's their website. www.tuxedoparkbrewers.com. The guy I know is Brent. There are email links on the page. Enjoy!
I asked myself "Why don't I attempt to create a dialog with all of the other people who have "art" as one of their tags?" Though not knowing where the move might take me, I felt that the tag alone was reason enough to become a fan of yours. Essex
What is it with IT dudes and Guinness?
Hey, thanks for the appetizer recommendation -- I'd like to use it in an upcoming appetizer story. Let me know your name and if you have a headshot photo available. Thanks!
Okay - you're nuts...foamy soap and silverware clanking rank among some of my favorites, not my pet peeves.
Other than that I'm right there with you about fried biscuits with warm apple butter and Guinness

Happy New Year to all of you "art interest" people I'm a fan of. Perhaps our paths will cross at an art event in 2008. Perhaps in '08 there will be a loosely organized gathering of the indy.com arts community at an event or gallery walk. If so, or not, have a good one either way. Cheers!
Thanks for all your contributions to the site. Our taste in music seems quite similar. Great to have that here. You're welcome to listen to my last.fm playlist if you'd like. Check it out here:

So my friends and I were just discussing the stunt kites. Any idea where I could get one with the razor blades?
