Bio

MVL (Monica Victoria Largy), an aspiring singer/writer was born raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. MVL is a smokey sultry alto singer with remarkable vocals that are capable of harmonious ballads and addictive pop tracks. One of four sisters, MVL has always found a way to get the attention she needs! As a young girl MVL was influenced by art music. Her father, a struggling Punk Rock artist showed her that hard work and drive wasn't always enough. Often staying awake at night singing rock melodies with him, she learned what it meant to be goal-driven. Her amazing mother, young and single with an impressive talent for visual arts, bestowed upon MVL the value, therapeutic release and importance of art (whether visual or performance). She encouraged her daughter to reach for the stars and made it possible on several occasions for MVL to showcase her talents at a younger age.

Writing since the age of 11 and performing since the age of 14, MVL feels most alive while on-stage. MVL frequently performs through-out the city of Indianapolis, primarily at Spin Nightclub in the entertainment mecca / cultural district of the city, Broad Ripple Village (where she is proudly an alumni of Broad Ripple High School). MVL credits the support of her family and friends for her local successes! She sings her own songs in genres of Pop, RB, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Lounge and Rock. MVL's music is considered by many to be empowering to women and has been known to impress even the biggest anti-pop critic. Often performing at hip hop revues for the loyal hip hop fan base, MVL takes a risk every time she hits the stage. Even if you're not a pop music fan, you will ultimately fall in love with this artist and her determination to be heard, considered and respected. Even when the odds are stacked against this aspiring singer/writer she continues to push forward and fight the good fight; bruised, scratched and weathered. MVL simply will not quit!

She is a breath of fresh air in a city where Pop/RB acts often go un-recognized. Midwest hip hop heavy-weights produce and often feature on this talent's singles. Inspired by RB icons Alicia Keys, Lauren Hill and Mary J. Blige and motivated by pop legends such as Madonna, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and Pink, MVL aspires to continue to write and sing real music for the real audience! With subject matter ranging from domestic violence, family issues and broken hearts to club bangers and girl anthems, MVL continues to prove on the Midwest circuit that she is not just another local act. Her perseverance, ambition and kind demeanor speak through her music. Those she encounters know automatically that MVL is a courageous, talented and focused force to be reckoned with...
