Hi Jolene! There is a story this week in "People" about the vegie-pureeing sneakiness. Hard to tell which came first...the spinach or the brownie...now a lawsuit! My oh my. Joanie
Thanks for the comment Jolene! I guess I am just so proud of myself and I just wish EVERYONE else was too - but I guess as long as the people that matter most are - the rest can get other it.
Jolene, I read your article in yesterday's (4/2) Star on the burning hands syndrome from jalepenos. Oh My Gosh. I made the mistake of touching the evil habenero and my hands were on fire for hours. I called a pharmacy and the pharmacist thought I was crazy. He said he had never heard of a reaction. I called the ER and was told it was a third degree burn and to soak in milk. This did help. Years later, I was making salsa and using jalapenos. I didn't use gloves b/c I assumed the jalapeno to be a mild pepper. WRONG. I was miserable. I will never ever ever touch a pepper without a minimum of a rubber glove. I don't think people realize just how serious these reactions are. Thank you for the wonderful article. I enjoy your writing very much.
