I currently work in the music industry and the Arts. I also get involved with other aspects of the entertainment industry on a local, regional and national level.
I am a manager, booking agent and publicist for Luke Austin Daugherty, Ann McWilliams, the Amanda Shelly Band and a few other artists/bands. I am all about helping indies!

I had a column in The Chronicle for two years where I covered performing arts and entertainment.
In my previous life, I was in executive management and sales for companies in the information technology and telecommunications industries nationally and internationally.
I have also been a volunteer all of my life. Everything from the Mental Health Association, to United Way, to Heartland Film Festival...and all those great city events years ago like the Sports Festival, Pan Am Games, etc.

I enjoyed your response to my comment. In fact it sounds like we are on the same page. I too think the Be Indypendent movement is a good thing and the Arts Council of Indianapolis is a great organization. If you have time, stop by my Indy.com page gallery, which I use for a format to display my artwork.
Wow! Sorry you couldn't get into my gallery. A friend of mine told me a few days ago he couldn't get into my site. I don't know what the problem was/is... but I've not experienced it so far. Stop by again when you get a chance.

Happy New Year to all of you "art interest" people I'm a fan of. Perhaps our paths will cross at an art event in 2008. Perhaps in '08 there will be a loosely organized gathering of the indy.com arts community at an event or gallery walk. If so, or not, have a good one either way. Cheers!
No problem on the related post / event thing. To answer your question, unfortunately no, Jessica Halverson is no longer at The Star. She found another job that worked out better for her. She is missed though! I'll try to make it to Robbing the Bank on Friday. Would it be cool if I brought a video camera?
