Spring is upon us. I think. It was touch and go for a while there, but we seem to have settled on temperatures above freezing at long last. This has inspired me to use my balcony to bring new life into the world and eat it.

I had one tomato plant last year that was given to me by a friend. That worked out pretty well, despite my near-total negligence. This year, I’ve decided to expand. Aside from tomatoes, I’m growing some basil and considering other things I can plant that are difficult to kill. I’ve also found a use for all those empty coffee cans I’ve been saving. They make excellent little pots. And to think, people criticize me for never throwing anything away.

So, does anyone else grow anything? Have any tips? Magic beans for cheap?

I had a little balcony garden last year, I planted some morning glory seeds and it climbed up my balcony railing, that looked pretty cool. I’d like to do a balcony herb garden this year but my balcony gets a ton of sun. Not sure how that will work.
