We have THOR!!
In the what-good-timing department, Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that one Chris Hemsworth has been cast as Norse God of Thunder Thor in Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming movie based on the Marvel Comics character, and presumably in the “Avengers” team-up flick as well.
And I know what you’re thinking: “WTF? OMG! Who the hell is Chris Hemsworth?” Well, if you saw “Star Trek” you probably knew him as George Kirk, aka JT Kirk’s ill-fated Pops. If you’re an Aussie you might know him from the TV series “Home and Away,” but unless your name is Konrad Marshall, chances are good if you’re reading this you’re not.
Nikki Finke’s, which I’d never heard of until tonight, has a list of people who reportedly tested for the role. I was hoping for Alexandar Skarsgard myself. Dude REALLY looks like he could be Thor. But I guess I’m willing to give this guy a chance.

Why hasn’t this happened yet? It’ll have to star Jason Lee and a CG pig. Either way, I’m there when it does.

One more thing: his casting, and the fact that Australian actors are just coming out of the woodwork and taking big-time American icon roles (I’m looking at you Hugh Jackman) is further proof that all y’all with your fancy accents are all faking.
Bring it, Marshall. You know them Aussies do it all for the tourists and the cameras. And the ladies. Mostly for the ladies.
