"The Shatner Ending"
Remember William Shatner’s hissy fit when he wasn’t asked to reprise his role as Captain Kirk ala Leonard Nimoy in the new “Star Trek” movie?
Well, according to Alex Kurzman and Roberto Orci, screenwriters of “Star Trek,” they made every effort to include him in a way that wouldn’t spoil “Trek” canon (in the new movie Spock emerges from the future some time after the events of “Star Trek: Nemesis,” at which time, of course, Kirk had been long dead).
Their solution, then would have been Kirk closing out the film in a voiceover/hologram that Old Spock gives to Young Spock to show how great the Kirk/Spock frienship will become.
Personally I think that scene would have polluted the timeline in a very un-Spock kind of way, and I’m glad it didn’t make it.

Shatner is a bloated old man, and I really don’t need to see him in another Star trek movie. Let’s face it – he really didn’t like the movies anyway – he just wanted to get paid.

I’m disappointed. I was hoping you’d say he should have come back as a Kirk zombie and eaten his own brains.
