Here is my next set of 10 Hidden movie gems that had very little hype or did good at the box office.

11. The Doctor..William Hurt plays a heart surgeon and suddenly he becomes a patient dealing with cancer. He soon sees exactly what happens on the other side of a doctor mask.

12. Eddie And The Cruisers..to me one of my all time fav movies to watch. Great story about a 60’s local rock band and Eddie Wilson ( Michael Pare) who were ahead of their time.

13. Embrace Of The Vampire..seldom heard of movie but an awesome blend of erotica and romance between a Vampire and a college girl played by Alyssa Milano. Has a few of the most erotic scenes in an R rated movie I have seen.

14. For Love Of The Game..another Kevin Costner movie about baseball but more about an aging pitcher reflecting back on the new love of his life Kelly Preston.

15. Hangar 18..low budget movie based on true events about an alien spacecraft that crashed in the desert kept in an old army hangar in Texas.

16. Heartbreak Hotel..made for TV movie about a weekend where Elvis Presley ( David Keith ) visits a long time fan ( Tuesday Weld ) who runs an old Hotel.

17. Imitation Of Life..if you want a great old movie to watch with your spouse or girlfriend, this is one of the best. Made in late 50’s, a struggling out of work actress (Lana Turner) takes in a struggling homeless black woman Annie. The two women face a huge challenge as they try to raise their children — especially Annie’s daughter, who, favoring her extremely fair-skinned father, slowly comes to resent her mother’s black identity. One of the most intense tearjerkers of all time.

18. Life Of David Vale..another unheralded movie about a college professor David Vale (Spacey), who is active in abolishing the death penalty along with his friend (Laura Linney). Gale is accused of rape and murder and sits on death row when a reporter ( Winslett )has 4 days to tell the real story before his execution.

19. Return To Me..this is a Chick flick that Bonnie Hunt wrote, directed and starred in.A Chicago building contractor David Duchovny donates his wife’s heart after she’s tragically killed in an automobile accident. The lucky recipient? Waitress Grace Briggs (Minnie Driver), who’s led a sheltered life because of her condition.

20. Something The Lord Made..I recently saw this great movie about two men who go against all odds to save babies suffering from a heart defect that causes them to suffocate. Alan Rickman and Mos Def become a great medical team during times of social and racial divide.
