Good show!
I hadn't had a chance to see what happened to the space that used to be Galerie Penumbra until First Friday and I was shocked and impressed. In an art world that is currently transfixed on Asian inspired animation, underground hip-hop culture, subversive and political graffiti culture and everything that is Juxtapoz magazine this city is way overdue for a venue that's focus is that of what is happening on a national, was-underground-but-is-now-mainstream level. The work was good, really good. Humorous, serious, uncaring at times and cartoonish. It was fun like the jester pokes at the king!
