More information about Sandi Patty at UIndy

Here is more information about the Sandi Patty concert April 27 at the University of Indianapolis.

Sandi Patty, a top name in contemporary Christian music for nearly three decades, will perform Sunday, April 27, at UIndy, 1400 E. Hanna Ave.

The UIndy Concert Choir will join the celebrated vocalist for four pieces during the matinee concert, which begins at 2:30 p.m. in the university's Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center. Patty will perform a number of songs from her recent Falling Forward album, along with hymns and a few of her "signature classics." Tickets are $20 general, $15 for students and seniors, and are available through the box office, (317) 788-3251.

Patty, who studied music at Anderson University before launching her solo career in the late 1970s, is a 2004 Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee and winner of 39 Dove Awards and five Grammy Awards. She has recorded nearly 30 albums, including three platinum and five gold. Her four books include the new Layers, a reflection on her own personal struggles and discoveries. Patty still lives in Indiana with her family and often has participated in the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's holiday concerts.

Of her 2007 album, Falling Forward, Billboard magazine said, "She's never sounded more confident or more in command." A new album, Songs for the Journey, is due for release this spring. Patty is spending much of the year crisscrossing the nation with other speakers and performers on the Women of Faith tour.
