Purdue guard Chris Kramer and Notre Dame forward Luke Harangody, both members of the 2006 Indianapolis Star Indiana All-Star team, are two of the 30 finalists for the Lowe’s Senior Class Award.

The finalists were announced today.

The award, an acronym for “Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School” is open to any senior who has demonstrated excellence in the areas of classroom, character, community and competition.

Entering his senior season, Kramer is second on Purdue’s career steals list, a three-time Big Ten all-defensive team selection and the 2008 Big Ten Defensive Player of the year. The 6-3 guard from Huntington North made the Academic All-Big Ten team the past two seasons.

Kramer led Purdue in assists as a freshman and sophomore.

Harangody already is a two-time All-American and was received the most votes for this year’s preseason All-American team.

The 6-8 forward is the first player in Big East history to lead the league in scoring and rebounding two years in a row.

Harangody is 738 points shy of Austin Carr’s Notre Dame career scoring record and could become the Big East’s all-time scoring and rebounding leader.

The Senior Class Award will be given during the 2010 Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium.
