Forward Robert Glenn and guard Alex Young each scored 19 points as IUPUI defeated visiting St. Joseph’s (Ind.) 86-62 in an exhibition basketball game Saturday afternoon.

Five Jaguars scored in double figures as guard Leroy Nobles added 16 points, forward Billy Pettiford had 11 and Jon Avery had 10.

“I wasn’t particularly happy with how our starters played, but we’re a deep basketball team and we got a lift from our bench,” IUPUI coach Ron Hunter said in a news release from the school. “That’s why we play exhibition games — to work some of the kinks out.”

Glenn and Young each had five turnovers as the Jaguars totaled 19.

“Greg Rice (four points, four assists) came in and helped Rob and Alex get some easy buckets,” Hunter said. “He has the ability to change the game without scoring a ton of points.”

Guard Andrew Helmer scored 10 points to lead the Pumas. He and guard Austin Peebles each grabbed six rebounds.

St. Joseph’s committed 24 turnovers and was outrebounded 36-26.
