The NCAA has cleared 7-foot freshman center Bawa Muniru to play this season, Indiana University confirmed today.

Muniru had been practicing with IU since arriving on campus this summer, and IU expected him to become eligible once the NCAA examined his test scores.

He was in street clothes during IU’s exhibition opener Wednesday night. He is expected to play Monday against St. Joseph’s.
Muniru will compete with Tom Pritchard and Bobby Capobianco for minutes in IU’s frontcourt.
