Pike High School students are collaborating with the Eiteljorg Museum and the Sullivan Munce Cultural Center in Zionsville for an art exhibition.

The students worked with American Indian artists, formed partnerships with local art organizations and will showcase their artwork in “Influence: Impact of Culture on Art,” which opens Friday.

Pike art teachers worked with the Eiteljorg to bring four American Indian artists into the Northwestside high school to share how they create art and how their culture influences their work, said Myron Cochran, art department chair.

Students then created their own artwork, which will hang in the Sullivan Munce Cultural Center, 205-225 W. Hawthorne St., Zionsville.

An opening reception for the exhibit will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sullivan Munce. The exhibit runs through Nov. 28.
