The Pike High School Planetarium will be part of a NASA event next week.

As part of the International Year of Astronomy, NASA will unveil mural-sized images of the center of the Milky Way Galaxy as seen by the Hubble Space Telescope, the Spitzer Space Telescope and the Chandra X-ray Observatory, said Deb Teuscher, Pike planetarium director.

The unveiling will be at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 12 during the Pike High School open house. Tickets are not required for the unveiling.

After the unveiling, the Pike Astronomy Club will present three November Night Sky shows at 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. For free tickets to the shows, contact Teuscher at dsteusch@pike.k12.in.us.
