A booze truck that was hijacked in Indianapolis has been found in Chicago.

The trailer, with 1,200 cases of liquor on board, was stolen late Sunday outside a Near Southside liquor store. It was recovered early Monday.

Indianapolis metropolitan police detectives are in Chicago to investigate, said IMPD Sgt. Paul Thompson. He did not know where the truck as found or whether its cargo was still in it.

The truck driver had pulled a semi-tractor trailer up to National Wine and Spirit at 700 W. Morris St. around midnight when two men wearing ski masks and carrying guns pulled him from the cab.

The driver was hit, handcuffed and placed in an empty semi trailer, police said.

The suspects unhitched the truck’s trailer from the cab, connected it to their truck and drove away.
