President asked for advice and that's what he got

How lucky we are that Ken Bode is not in a position of importance. I could not believe what I read in Bode’s Oct. 30 column (“Time for Obama to show rogue general the door”). His call to fire Gen. Stanley McChrystal is beyond ignorant. Does he realize that McChrystal was hand picked by President Barack Obama to lead the war in Afghanistan after Obama fired his predecessor?

McChrystal was to assess the situation and provide the president his best advice on what should be done. He has done what was asked of him. If the assessment of what should be done is in error, who should be blamed? Maybe the judgment of the president who selected McChrystal should be questioned.

Bode is an obvious far-leftwinger who will take whatever position is expedient to criticize the military. Can you imagine the chaos in Afghanistan and in NATO if McChrystal were fired? It would make our president look weak and indecisive and our allies would correctly question our president’s judgment.
