Hamilton SE (10-1) at Carmel (10-1)

When: 7 p.m. Friday.

Over the past 10 years: Carmel leads 10-1.

Last year: Did not meet.

HSE’s key players: QB Jake Jones (31-of-64, 502 yards, 6 TDs), QB Chris Sanders (31-of-63, 283 yards, 3 TDs), RB Matt Ripp (201 carries, 1,229 yards, 15 TDs), TE Gary Harris (16 receptions, 270 yards, 5 TDs).

Carmel’s key players: QB Adam Shaffer (94-of-135, 1,178 yards, 12 TDs), RB Devin Brinson (173 carries, 1,028 yards, 7 TDs), RB Jesse Hollander (97 carries, 511 yards, 7 TDs), WR Nick Logan (25 receptions, 400 yards, 4 TDs).

What to watch for: The Royals and Greyhounds haven’t met since 2005 when Southeastern won 17-7 to snap an 11-game losing streak against Carmel. The Royals went to the Class 5A state finals that year, and the Greyhounds have been there the past three years.

Carmel has won 10 in a row since a season-opening loss to 4A No. 1 Cathedral, and Southeastern has won nine in a row since a loss to Fishers. Ripp leads the Royals offense.

“Ripp is a very strong powerful back, and when he gets a head of steam going, he’s tough to get off his feet,” Carmel coach Mo Moriarity said. “They play two quarterbacks, and they bring something different to the offense. (Sanders) is good with the ball in his hands. They kind of pound you on offense and keep pounding away and play great defense.”
