Background/schooling: Master’s degree in elementary education, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis; bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Indiana University; Logansport High School.

Why did you become a teacher: I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children.

What goals do you have for your students: 1. Dream big. 2. Learn to work hard.

What do you encourage parents to do at home to help their children strengthen particular skills: Spend quality and quantity time with their kids. This is a must to remain the major influence in their life.

Favorite movie: “Hoosiers.”

Favorite musician: Norah Jones.

What’s something your students might not know about you: I have seven kids. We are a big sports family. My wife let me name the last one. His legal name is Jumpshot.
